Active in various forms since 2013, little tiny knife is a Sacramento-based indie folk punk band, risen from the ashes of Wayne Jetski and founded by Josiah Masteller (they/them).
As of mid-2022, the project’s current iteration includes Josiah on vocals and guitar (or ukulele/banjo/whatever they feel like playing), Jim Soltero (he/him) on stand-up bass, and Brianna Carmel (they/them) on vocals, tambourine, kazoo, and occasionally guitar. Since “rebranding” as little tiny knife, other artists they have shared the stage with include Local News Legend, Spud Bugs, Bella Hangnail, June Henry, The Last Arizona, Lucy Broom, and many more.

The trio’s debut album, released on July 31st, 2025, “Wayne’s World / Almost Alive From Dustin’s Kitchen,” was recorded and engineered by Dustin Farley. Live Free DIY Hard writes: “With this album, what they do deliver is a solid indie folk offering with a punk infused ethos … Despite [this] being Little Tiny Knife’s first album, it presents a depth and maturity that you can only get from veterans of their local scene.”
